Standard Chartered has named a new head for its African private banking team, after incumbent Richard Howarth recently left the role. Maurice Keane, formerly head of consumer banking, Jordan and Middle East, has been promoted internally to replace Howarth, WealthBriefingAsia can exclusively reveal. Richard Howarth joined
Standard Chartered Private Bank in 2009 as senior director and Africa market leader, from Barclays' wealth management division. At Barclays he was director and regional market leader for Africa, and was hired within a team of seven from the the UK lender. It is not yet known where Howarth plans to move to.
